MSBS Lay Association
The Lay Association of the Missionary Servants of the Blessed Sacrament was founded by Alda Pasqualini, an Italian woman who also sought to live the charism of Missionary Animation and Cooperation. This Association began as an institute independent of our Congregation but was later on aggregated to us because of our similar charism. Later, however, it evolved into an association, which is under the responsibility of an MSBS Sister.
The members of this Association (Lay Associates) are single or widowed women who make a solemn promise to live a life of poverty, chastity, obedience and missionary animation and cooperation. They are given spiritual assistance such as retreats, recollections and formative seminars so that they may faithfully commit themselves to their life of consecration and mission. They are also given human and Christian formation through their participation in our mission activities.
MSBS Family for the Mission
Recognizing the role of the family in the mission of the Church, we also promote the Family for the Mission Association (FMA). This Association was established by Sr. Luciana Lucatello, one of our sisters in Italy in 1988. Our sisters take charge of facilitating their activities, preparing prayer guide for them and guiding them.
The fundamental aim of FMA is to enliven the missionary spirit in the families. The families who desire to be part of this Association commit to offer an hour of prayer every month for the mission. They choose the day and time in which they shall pray.
Every month, the families are provided with a guide for prayer, which consists of prayers and reflections on the word of God. A particular theme is chosen every year. To favour their growth, to help strengthen their bond as a family and to empower them to live fully their vocation and mission as families, formative seminars are sometimes facilitated.
